German sailing ship to arrive in central Cuba

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Dec 30 (ACN) The sailing ship Sea Cloud II, from Germany, will anchor Friday in the Olimpia Medina area of the port of Cienfuegos, with German and French tourists on board, in the peak season of tourism in Cuba.

Ana Elvira Gomez Reyes, deputy director of the Cost Center of the territory, belonging to the Cubanacan Branch in Trinidad, told the Cuban News Agency that on the first day they will make the City Tour Cienfuegos and tour emblematic sites of the city.

She added that on Dec. 31, to end 2022, they will make an excursion to colonial and historic Trinidad, declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity (1988), Craft City (2018) and Creative City of the World (2019) by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

European tourists will have a special dinner on the ship itself, with the accompaniment of Cuban artists, before the departure in the early hours of January 1.

The ship, with a 117-meter length, three masts and 23 sails, has a capacity for 96 passengers, who enjoy the lifestyle of a private yacht during the crossing.
