Last night, I had the pleasure of attending an engaging panel discussion hosted by the Financial Times and Infosys centered around the theme "Building an AI-First Organization." Thank you to FT for inviting me. The discussion explored AI's role broadly, but one point caught my attention: the relatively limited adoption of generative AI for enhancing customer experiences and driving lead generation through content. While chatbots were highlighted as a compelling use case—rightly so—the broader use of AI for content generation and digital marketing went largely unaddressed. This omission surprised me, as I believe the content space is one of the most exciting opportunities for Danish companies and beyond. Achieving true hyper-personalization has long been a challenge for many organizations, yet it remains a top priority for CMOs. However, realizing this vision requires a step-change in efficiency across the Content Supply Chain. Generative AI offers precisely that—scalability at an unprecedented level. At Optimizely, we’re already building AI tools to: - Generate on-brand text and visuals - Create draft briefs for new campaigns - Optimize content assets using real-time performance and conversion data - Identify gaps in content strategies by integrating insights from online and internal data sources These capabilities enable organizations to deliver the right content at the right time, through the right channels—faster and more cost-effectively than ever before. 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 – 𝗔 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 Had an interesting conversation with my colleague Svenja Weber today about 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗘𝗦𝗚, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. We agreed, it’s time to move 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮. If we want to talk about #women in leadership as a business case, let’s do it with numbers, not clichés or token gestures. The evidence is there, and it’s compelling. Sun Tzu and Military Design Thinking / Alter Wein in neuen Schläuchen ? One of our favorite quotes in our early defence / defense thought leadership presentations was: " If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle" Sun Tzu. The strategy principles of Sun Tzu, as outlined in his famous work “The Art of War,” and the modern concept of design thinking are related in that both involve a deep understanding of the context and environment to achieve successful outcomes. Sun Tzu’s strategy emphasizes the importance of knowing oneself and the enemy, adapting to changing circumstances, and the use of deception and surprise to outmaneuver opponents. These principles can be applied to various fields beyond military, including business and personal endeavors. Design thinking, on the other hand, is a problem-solving approach that involves empathy, creativity, and rationality to meet user needs and solve complex problems. It’s a human-centered approach that encourages understanding the user, challenging assumptions, and redefining problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions. Both Sun Tzu’s strategy and design thinking require a strategic approach to planning and decision-making. They share a common goal of achieving success through careful analysis, planning, and execution. Sun Tzu’s focus on strategic advantage and design thinking’s emphasis on innovation and user experience can complement each other in developing robust strategies for business, technology, and other areas. For instance, Sun Tzu’s lesson that “strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat” can be seen as analogous to the design thinking principle that without a clear understanding of the user’s needs and the problem at hand, any solution or tactic will be ineffective. In essence, both methodologies advocate for a thoughtful approach to challenges, where understanding the broader context and having a clear strategy are crucial for success. Basically, the growth momentum continues: The total revenue of the IT BPM industry (excluding e-commerce) exceeded the USD 200 bn mark and reached USD 227 bn. Export revenue from this industry (excluding e-commerce) was estimated at nearly USD 178 bn in fiscal 2022. These figures represent a total share of more than 50% of the global outsourcing market. In addition, more than 45 new data centers are planned to be built in the next few years until 2025. With five million direct jobs, the IT sector is the largest private employer in India; if indirect jobs are also included, the number of jobs is around 12 million. Of course, the providers of IT outsourcing include the domestic big players such as Infosys, TCS or WIPRO. However, it is also true that the Indian model has been largely adopted by global consulting firms such as Accenture, IBM, Deloitte and EY. These Western players operate huge facilities in India. At the beginning of 2020, there were more than 1,400 IT development centers of major Western players in India (about 70% owned by large American companies) with a total of more than 1 million employees. Can #AI become THE lever for #productivity and customer #satisfaction? Yes, it can – and it will! That is my absolute conviction that I have also shared at yesterday’s sounding board event for two of our key solutions for customer interaction and services: Our Contact Center Solution “CCS” and our Conversational AI “CAI” application. This dynamic duo of our modern CCS solution and CAI are key in driving our #customer satisfaction to new heights. By leveraging the latest technologies, we don’t only increase productivity gains for ourselves as IT providers, but also enable our customers to contact us as quickly and efficiently as possible! Both these solutions are extremely crucial assets which enable our Allianz customers to get help and support whenever they need – be it in case of a car accident, a water leak in their home, a medical emergency on a trip abroad…I am sure that many of you have – just like me – experienced the great relief of receiving help from experts when you need it the most. I’m thrilled to announce the release of the Digital Euro Association Working Group Paper: 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐁𝐃𝐂: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐁𝐃𝐂 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. It’s a report I had the privilege of contributing and co-chairing alongside Hubert W.E. Knapp, with contributions from brilliant minds across the industry. As a frugal technologist and lifelong believer in open source technology, I’ve seen its transformative power—its ability to democratize innovation, enhance trust, and scale solutions seamlessly. This report dives into how open source can shape Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), offering: ✅ Innovation at Scale: Tapping into global collaboration to accelerate progress. ✅ Robust Security: Strengthening systems with independent reviews and cutting-edge cryptography. ✅ Seamless Interoperability: Enabling integration and cross-border efficiency for inclusive financial ecosystems. Yet, we must tackle challenges like governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance to ensure open source becomes a force for responsible innovation. This work matters because CBDCs aren’t just about digital money—they’re about creating financial frameworks that are transparent, trusted, and accessible to all.
