SIS Medical AG has appointed Ron Waksman, associate director Division of Cardiology, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington, USA as a member of its Medical Advisory Board.
In a press release, SIS Medical describes Waksman as a world-renowned interventional cardiologist whose research and clinical work has contributed significantly to the rapid development of the interventional cardiology field in the USA and globally. He has been the principal investigator for numerous pre-clinical and clinical studies conducted in the USA and abroad. Waksman’s clinical experience is based on the more than 5,000 coronary interventions, which he has performed during his career.

“Dr Waksman, with his long-term expertise and experience will play the instrumental role for the clinical roll-out of the OPN NC Super High Pressure Balloon in the USA. The unique OPN NC PTCA balloon can be inflated up to 35atm and is a great tool for the treatment of the coronary lesions. The product was recently submitted for the [US Food and Drug Administration] FDA 510(K) review and the clearance is expected in Q1 of 2022.
