But what is an AED and where can an AED be found?
An AED is an automated external defibrillator that is used in the event of cardiovascular arrest or cardiac arrhythmias. The devices are intuitive to use and guide the user step by step. By delivering an electric shock, it can help with a life-threatening cardiac arrhythmia, but it can also help laypeople successfully carry out resuscitation measures.
Even experienced first aiders do not know exactly where to go to an AED in such exceptional situations. This is exactly where the app helps you, it shows you the closest AEDs in your area and navigates you there.

Have you discovered an AED that is not yet registered in the app? Then report it and help make Germany a little more heart-safe. You can also make an important contribution to this by regularly checking "your" AEDs.
