Kommentare/ Inhalte: Universität Hamburg, in collaboration with the EUGLOH network, offers a lecture series on the "Planetary Health" concept. The aim of the lecture series is to provide students from all subjects with an easily understandable introduction to the concept of Planetary Health and its relevance for the future of global health. The Planetary Health concept recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, and the importance of addressing these three areas in a holistic manner. In the context of today's global challenges, such as climate change, emerging infectious diseases, and increasing antibiotic resistance, Planetary Health has become an essential framework for tackling complex health problems. Each session will be led by a researcher from one of the participating universities. The lectures will be designed to engage students from all subjects, not just those studying health-related fields, in order to demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of Planetary Health. The lecture series will also be a cornerstone of the new interdisciplinary sustainability certificate which the UHH launches in Fall 2023. The lecture can be attended by external guest students via online access. Lernziel: By the end of the lecture series, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the Planetary Health concept and its relevance for the future of global health. They will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to contribute to multidisciplinary efforts aimed at addressing complex health challenges and building a healthier, more sustainable future for all.
Zusätzliche Hinweise zu Prüfungen: Die Ringvorlesung kann als ein Element des „Zertifikatsprogramms Nachhaltigkeit“ angerechnet werden.
