Cassio by Henri Reculé
Cassio #3

Henri Reculé was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, as the son of a Belgian father and and Chilean mother. He and his family moved to Belgium in 1984, where Reculé attended the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Liège, specializing in illustration. While still at Saint-Luc, he won a prize at the Hélecine comic festival with his first comic story.

A couple of months later, he teamed up with Jean-Luc Sala to create 'Le Grand Veneur', that won a contest held by the Lombard magazine Jet. Reculé and Sala then produced a longer story entitled 'La Légende de Kynan', that was published in Hello Bédé and in book format in 1993. For the same magazine, Reculé came up the midieaval saga 'Castel Armer' on his own, from 1993 to 1997.

He subsequently began a long and fruitful collaboration  with Stephen Desberg, that started with two books of 'Le Crépuscule des Angles' (Casterman, 1998-99) and the final book in the series 'Le Cercle des Sentinelles' (Casterman, 2000). They subsequently created series like 'Les Immortels' (Glénat, 2001-2005), 'Le Dernier livre de la Jungle' (Lombard, 2004-2007) and 'Cassio' (Lombard, since 2007). Reculé is also co-plotter and cover artist for Desberg's collective comic series 'Empire USA'.
