About this app

ÖHA! is the app for the project of the same name by the Vienna University of Education on the subject of "ecologically responsible media action".

According to the Citizen Science approach, students * together with the project team developed videos and interactive exercises about the life cycle of a smartphone. Alex, the avatar, guides you through the teaching and learning materials that shed light on the ecological influences of a cell phone from development to recycling.

With six integrated augmented reality elements, for example, the individual parts of a cell phone can be examined more closely or the path of electricity from the power plant to the data center can be experienced up close.

The app is aimed at both primary and secondary school pupils and can be used on its own or as a supplement to the ÖHA website (https://oeha.phwien.ac.at/) and the free ÖHA workbooks will.

ÖHA! is a project of the PH Vienna with the project period from 01.09.2019 to 31.12.2020, funded by the OEAD and the Innovation Foundation for Education. The schools involved were the HTL Pinkafeld, the BRG Pichelmayergasse and the VS Prückelmayergasse in Vienna.
Other project partners were SOCIUS - Alliance against Poverty, Amlogy - Augmented Reality for school and home, the ZOOM Children's Museum and Lemberger Publishing.
